Guidance during pregnancy and postpartum period

I am a conventioned midwife. In practical terms, this means that part of the consultations are paid directly to us by your health insurance fund, and you are only responsible for travel costs to your home. 
You are responsible for checking with your insurance company what costs they will reimburse and within what time frame around the birth.

Clients with an increased reimbursement or "OMNIO status" from the health insurance fund do not have their own surcharge on the NIHDI rates. You can recognize this status by the number XX1 on your health insurance sticker (e.g.: 101-121-411).

All of my rates include: start-up and maintenance file, my personal service (available 24/7 for urgent cases), material costs for standard wound care, etc.

During pregnancy:

• Instead of or complementary to the appointments in the hospital, you can be followed up in a familiar environment at your own midwifery practice. 

• On average you meet midwife 12 times during your pregnancy.

After birth:

• The first 5 days after the birth you are entitled to five consecutive home visits. The number of days you stay in the hospital will be deducted.

• You are also entitled to 6 consultations up to one year after birth. The first few weeks these consultations take place at your home. 

• If necessary, additional consultations are possible on prescription from the general practitioner or gynaecologist up to one year after birth.​​
